Attack on titan season 4 episode 6 r11/21/2023 ![]() This scene is one of the best animated sequences from the season, but “Thaw” also amplifies the nostalgic feelings that surround this moment of triumph for the Survey Corps once “Barricades,” a track that I don’t think has been used since the show’s second season accompanies their assault. The Survey Corps’ battle against Titans is beautiful on an aesthetic level, but it’s extremely cathartic to watch Jean lead everyone to success as he embraces his role as leader. These feelings of growth and redemption are rampant throughout “Thaw” and even the action sequences crystalize into character catalysts. Gabi’s full-blown evolution from Sasha’s killer into Sasha 2.0 is the perfect turn for her character and is metonymic of Attack on Titan’s biggest themes about the underlying humanity that unites everyone. It’s a potent representation of how war changes individuals, more often than not for the worse, but it can also lead to transformative displays of empathy that would have otherwise been impossible without this pain and loss. Kaya literally thinks that she’s seen a ghost. Kaya’s reverence towards her new hero is also depicted in the same way as when Sasha originally saved Kaya from a Titan. Gabi, during her moment of victory, looks nearly identical to Sasha. It’s beyond fulfilling that Gabi is then able to swoop in and save Kaya’s life (and from Nile Dok no less, who just did a solid for her and Falco) and heal all of this trauma by bringing it full-circle. In this moment, Kaya learns that she’s lost her role model, but that her new friend is also a fraud and her faith in humanity drops a few notches lower. Kaya, a previously passive individual, is driven to nearly kill Gabi when she learns that she’s the one who’s responsible for Sasha’s death. Gabi’s growth is incestuously tied together with Sasha and Kaya, three characters who come from contrasting backgrounds, but all eventually end up as echos of one another.Īttack on Titan previously engaged in an exercise in tension and psychological horror that’s not unlike the final act of A Clockwork Orange when Gabi and Falco had to spend time with Kaya and the Braus family. It’s remarkable that Gabi has only been in Attack on Titan for 22 episodes, and while those have been the series at its most chaotic, the amount of inspirational growth that she’s experienced is staggering. ![]() Many characters experience rewarding epiphanies throughout “Thaw,” but the voyage that Gabi has been through and the place that she ends up by the episode’s conclusion is some of the most touching and powerful storytelling that’s ever been in Attack on Titan. It’s not easy to follow-up last week’s perfect episode, but “Thaw” hits comparable heights with its unflinching focus on Attack on Titan’s supporting characters and how the dangers of Armageddon can be the ultimate equalizer. “Thaw” is a goldmine for these narrative payoffs and many characters experience crises of faith and pivotal emotional growth just as Eren and countless others have undergone gruesome physical transformations. Years of backstory and relationships continue to mature in ways that are both extremely satisfying on a personal level for the characters, but also when it comes to the series’ larger themes. This entire final season of Attack on Titanhas been a masterclass in terms of character development and storytelling. This Attack on Titan review contains spoilers.

Southwest lrt project office11/20/2023 ![]() The Met Council has not been transparent with the Legislature and the public about the project’s increasing costs and delays. The pre-construction engineering and analysis of underground conditions in the narrow - and troubled - Kenilworth Corridor, where a shallow tunnel is being built, did not identify soil conditions blamed on expensive changes and long delays. But OLA also found that after the contractor blamed the Met Council for the delays, the Met Council eventually agreed. The council did not hold its contractors accountable for repeated failures to provide an acceptable project schedule. When it added a $90 million wall between its tracks and BNSF freight tracks, it did so as a change order rather than using a new bidding process. The Met Council bid the project knowing there were significant pieces of the project not included and not yet estimated. And it didn’t have enough money to finish it, either. When it learned in early 2022 that it no longer had enough money to complete the project, the project was faced with that dilemma cited by Hansen - it didn’t have enough money to end the project because that would require repaying federal funds and restoring the route to pre-construction conditions.“The Legislature should create a framework so the entity that is leading light rail construction has some of its own money at stake so if it goes over budget, it feels the pain, it’s penalized and if it comes in under budget it’s rewarded,” Kirchner told the commission. The federal share of $929 million is capped, and Hennepin County has balked at finding what remains of the $500 million shortfall identified a year ago. “The structure of how the region builds big transit projects creates a mismatch between the entities that fund the construction and transit and the entities that are responsible for constructing them.” That is, the Met Council has relatively little money in the project, instead relying on the federal government, Hennepin County and earlier the now-defunct five-county Counties Transit Improvement Board. All could find sections of the audit to support their statements.įor example, according to a presentation led by David Kirchner of the OLA: Both suggested that the very structure of the appointed regional government needs reassessment. ![]() DFLers pointed to the OLA findings that the Met Council has not been transparent in communicating problems with budgets and timelines. Republicans were able to reiterate complaints about using light rail as a mode of transit when buses are cheaper and more flexible. Other members of the audit commission took turns bashing the council and the project. Scott Dibble: “I’m not quite sure where to start, there’s so much here to unpack.” As currently estimated, Southwest LRT project costs per mile of track are comparable to costs for similar projects in millions of adjusted dollars. While the audit attempted to find the cause of the problems facing the project and suggest remedies, its recommendations, if adopted, would do little to change this project, leaving commission members frustrated. “We have policies and we have processes and we have working groups, task forces, reports, warning signs and bells and whistles saying something’s wrong, and it still goes off the rails.Īudit project manager David Kirshner and Legislative Auditor Judy Randall are shown at Wednesday’s hearing. Paul DFLer who chairs the audit commission. “It seems that nobody’s at fault, or everybody’s at fault,” said Rep. “We also found that the Metropolitan Council obligated itself to spend money it did not have, added or changed substantial work after the project was bid, and was not fully transparent about the project’s increasing costs and delays.”īut while the report brought no new revelations, having it all in one place by an independent auditor was sobering for members of the joint Legislative Audit Commission. “Minnesota has a mismatch between the entities that fund the construction of light rail transit projects and the entities responsible for constructing them,” wrote the Office of the Legislative Auditor in a special report requested by the Legislature. So much bad news has flowed from the Met Council and its Southwest Light Rail Transit (also known as the Metro Green Line Extension) project that a harsh report from the state’s legislative auditor might be seen as just more of the same. Anarki quake iii arena11/20/2023 Q3A's focus on multiplayer gameplay spawned a lively community, similar to QuakeWorld, that is active to this day. It employs a client–server model, requiring all players' clients to connect to a server. Quake III Arena was specifically designed for multiplayer, the game allows players whose computers are connected by a network or to the internet, to play against each other in real time. Players also drop the weapon they were using when killed, which other players can then pick up. If a player dies all their weapons are lost and they receive the spawn weapons for the current map, usually the gauntlet and machine gun. Weapons appear as level items, spawning at regular intervals in set locations on the map. The BFG is an exception to this as a super-weapon, however compared to other similarly named weapons in the Doom/Quake series, Q3A's incarnation of this gun is basically a fast-firing rocket launcher and it is found in hard-to-reach locations. The weapons are balanced by role, with each weapon having advantages in certain situations such as the railgun at long-range and the lightning gun at close quarters. While deathmatch maps are designed for up to 16 players, tournament maps are designed for duels between 2 players and in the single-player game could be considered as 'boss battles'. As well as tougher opponents the fights take place in more complex arenas as the game progresses. In Quake III Arena the player progresses through tiers of maps, combating different bot characters that increase in difficulty, from Crash (at Tier 0) to Xaero (at Tier 7). Notable features of Quake 3 include the minimalist design, lacking rarely used items and features, the extensive customizability of player settings such as field of view, texture detail and enemy model, and advanced movement features such as strafe-jumping and rocket-jumping. ![]() The single-player is instead played against computer controlled bots. Tunacan wood meme11/20/2023 ![]() ![]() Our tuna, for example, are caught one fish at a time using 100% pole & line methods with no nets," says Shannon Daily, the Marketing Director of Wild Planet. "We only use fishing methods that support ocean health and the populations that depend on it. However, Wild Planet is a California-based company recognized by Greenpeace for its sustainable practices and environmentalist mission. Sustainably caught with pole and line (not nets that can trap birds, turtles, and dolphins) in the central or north Pacific ocean, this species is processed at partner facilities in Thailand, Vietnam, Morocco, Ecuador, Cape Verde, and Spain. However, some crumbled pieces used to fill in gaps can detract from the presentation. This tuna is cooked once in the can in its own juices, with only a bit of salt added. Skipjack has darker flesh and a stronger flavor than albacore, which can be a little too mild and dry. Sustainable and delicious, its healthy population is good for the pocketbook, especially when you buy cans by the dozen online. Widely available in grocery chains, this skipjack tuna is a smaller species that often is the unnamed "chunk light tuna" in cheaper brands. Different types of tuna also have different levels of mercury, and the FDA and EPA have come up with recommendations to help you decide what (and how much) is safest to eat. Tuna fishing methods can be particularly harmful to other species, and certain types are overfished. It can be bewildering, however, for consumers trying to make smart choices.
